Zesty

I figured this would be a great way to end the A to Z challenge. With a Zesty word. I am feeling rather zesty today! I sumbitted my first short story to be considered, and feeling ok about it. My sister is now able to call me a writer and feel snobbish about it, she says. :) Love you sister!
So..Off I go to write away this weekend, and now have a great new idea to compile a lil something with my teenager *someone help me* lol!

Have a great weekend and I'm off to write, scrapbook and enjoy the weekend!

Oh and check this out!! http://tmdcookiejar.blogspot.com/ I have a lil sumpin in the jar this month! :)

X-CITED

So I'm going to be short (shocking I know) today..
I am Xcited that I found an awesome website, for writiers, that has lists of places looking for submissions. To publish in books. *giggles like a little girl*
I am going to work on my short stories, which I can't tell most about, because they are X-rated *grins*.. so.. Yeah.. I'm working on X-rated material while I'm watching my youngest's baseball practices. *gasp* Bad mommy!
so..There you have it. I am going to work my dirty-minded-guts out to get some stories done and submitted to these various places..and see what happens. :)
Perhaps I'll join Hart in nakey world domination from our tubs. *wink-wink*

Lexi, in gramma's flower garden. It turned out pretty cute!

Wasting time

Today's letter for the A to Z blog challenge is W
The perfect word for me is wasting.
I waste time. I do. I admit it.
I am unorganized, unmotivated and scattered around everwhere. lol. I should have used this for "u"

Here's some ways I waste my time:
1- re-reading over and over, webpages
2- clicking on various links with pink or fairies on said pages.
3- staring out the window
4- not really seeing anything out window
5- watching my favorite show- Nurse Jackie while I was supposed to be writing my next chapter or working on short story for website
6- staring at notebook
7- watching United States of Tara when I was supposed to be almost done with next chapter or short story for website
8- staring out my door to the hall where kids are yelling something unintelligable
9- writing this list
10- thinking about ways I waste time

What was I thinking? I had no plan. I suppose I need to write another list to outline my chapter. However, we have a baseball game tonight..so no time (again).

A bit behind

I'm a bit behind on my blogging, been busy, scrapping, writing, being a mommy, etc..

Heres me catching up..again

T- Time? Well..I would love more Time! Who needs sleep? I need more time for me, for my kids, for my housework, for my workouts, for my writing, for my scrapping (which I am like 50 years behind on) for cooking, for um..well.. everything.. How do we sign up for that list that gives us more time?

U-underachiever.. that's me. I always try to fly under the radar. Try not to be noticed. I am thinking when I publish my first book, short story, etc..whatever comes first.. I may not be able to hide under myself. I think I'm ok with that. I want to know that I can accomplish something, something that will uncover me!

V-Vampires. I love vampires. The classic vamps, the new sparkly vamps (sorry tart) and all in between. I have a fascination with the undead. I so wanted to start my novel about vamps, but I think it may be too soon. Too mainstream. I may get it done, and perhaps hold onto it for a while. We'll see. I do so want to create the perfect vamp story. But, don't want to get swept under the rug. I decided on fairies and powerful witches. *snort* That may be worse. Idk.

I forgot to take pics of my lil windowsill garden. Will try to soon. Promise :)

Earth Day

What can we do for one day that we can't do every day? Recycling, planting trees, reducing, reusing..etc.. Why can't we do this every day?
Just a quick ?

My "S" post...

Self Confidence..
I have some.
I need more!
I have to find that thing in myself that keeps me going. Scrapping, making cards, layouts, etc etc. I love that! The feeling of accomplishment it gives to complete a challenge, which I am new to, is sweet!
Writing, which is also new, is giving mixed signals. I feel great for having a project to work on. A way to express my thoughts, feelings and issues, is a great way to release ideas.
Self confidence is something that will come, and it is more of a determination to prove that little self in me wrong.

some cute bookmarks I made

I just posted these in my Etsy shop three bookmards
they are so cute!

My lil slugger

Lacey's first game. They lost big time, but they all had fun and that's what matters. They were so cute. Thanks Brett for helping me figure out how to keep score. Who knew it was so hard!

Rain

I love the smell of rain in spring. The salty, clean, damp smell of new beginings, brings a smile to my face. Inhaling the fresh air gives a sense of well being and calmness. The dark clouds mixed with the sunrise. The birds chirping, the sprinkles of rain drops on the warm cement. It all makes me happy.
Rain in spring is one of the most refreshing feelings I can imagine.
What a great morning :)

Q- um..

Today's letter for tossing it out's a to z blog challenge is Q.
I like the word Quiet. With two kids, I don't get much. My mind is certainly never quiet. My dogs are hardly ever quiet. I don't think I get enough quiet times. but who does?
Quirky- this is an awesome word. It describes people who are bizarre, freakish, off the wall, weird, odd, etc.. this fits the characters in my book so far. And almost everyone I know. I love it! If we weren't weird, the world would be soooo boring! What else would we do at Wally world at 11 pm on a Saturday?
Quarrel is a quirky word :) It just looks odd. It means to argue, fight. etc.. I think everyone has a quarrel in them. Internally or externally. most times both. I usually quarrel with food, and my weight. The inner me is thin and beautiful. The outter me is flubtastic. They quarrel all the time!

That's about it for today.
I will try to get some pics of my new plants, in their new happy homes.

Have a great day!

FYI Mrs B is having a great giveaway from 5 seed

check it out!

Another wonderful giveaway from jacquesmagnolias

Procrastination

Procrastination-I' m sure other bloggers have used this topic, I haven't had time to go check. But I am the queen! I put off all things that are hard, make me uncomfortable, or just don't want to do. I need to change this attitude. I have procrastinated already on my book. I keep saying "I'll get some writing done tomorrow" then tomorrow rolls around..guess what? Yeah..
So..I am going to pick one thing and not procrastinate. I will just do it, right then and there. Maybe I will benefit from it. Reminds me of the movie "Yes Man" with Jim Carey. Love love love that show! He just agrees with whatever. Says yes to everything. It does change his life. I need to be a yes woman. :)

Here's my tribute to my mama

Mom's fav was yellow roses
and the saying is Mathain Siochan Leat (mother, peace be with you)
I already have an appointment next month to start my fairy on the other side of my arm! I got a great guy new here from New York and I believe I was his second tat since he's been in Utah. Thanks Josh (that is his name) and I'll be back soon!

Oops

Forgot O!

Lots of things for "O" that I can think of. Some aren't appropriate here lol.  Oblivious. I like that word. As a mom, I see lots of things my girls are oblivious of. Or at least pretend to be. Hopefully they are oblivious to the real world and how mean it can really be. My oldest told me she heard a story about a girl that was recently bullied to death. She was so sad for this girl. I have always told them, always try to be a friend to the ones that you think need a friend most. They never really understood until now I think. You never know what someone else is thinking or going through. Maybe that smile you give them at lunch will carry them through another day, because someone wasn't oblivious to them.

Obscene- This word is fun also. I am aiming to be on the list of obscene writers that get tucked away in the back rooms and locked drawers. lol. I don't know if that really happens, just my imagination. But you never know. What a goal huh?

A bit behind

I missed a few days of the a to z challenge..
Here's to trying go get caught up...(it's gonna be short)

M- Mothers. I am a mother. I have a mother(lost her two years ago) I have a post later that I will share my tribute I made to her.  Mother's day is coming..thinking about what to get my mother in law..It is almost always something that makes her cry (happy tears) so..have to start searching for that. What makes your mothers day special?

N- Noticing things. I am a people watcher, I love movies and notice things in them. Last night we watched The Blind Side.. I happened to notice at least one thing..How in certain shots, things are different. Next time you watch it..pay attention to the scene where Big Mike is talking to Miss Sue.. The Ol Miss cup..in one scene it is facing another direction than in the next scene. It's noticable to me :) I always notice things like that. I suppose it's the brilliant mind I have. lol.

Have a great day!

L-lemme think

Love is the first thing that pops into my head for the letter L. Original.
I have love handles. Hell, I have love luggage :) I am working on getting rid of those. It is hard. Yesterday my gym buddy and I turned the workout up a notch. We elevated the levels on the treadmill to five (eek) and walked at almost (2.8) speed for a mile. That was like walking up a hill really fast! We got sweaty! It was great. It was hard for me to finish the whole time, but I did it. I wanted to turn it down for a second, but I didn't! That was a great feeling.
Last night, me and my lazy arse (I still love that word, tartyness) decided to go for a walk. So I changed got the ipod and the girls and left. We walked 6615 steps, were gone about an hour and saw some awesome scenery. The pics were taken with my phone, so not the best quality...but they get the point across :)
Here are some pretty flowers along the way

The clouds looked amazing, so I clicked a pic..

A View from my phone :)

the girls playing around

If you look close you can see our deer friends :)

The girls playin around some more

It was a great walk. We nearly froze on our way home, but it was worth it! We will definately be going again soon. Our neighborhood is awesome!

Another link since my sidebar thingy isnt working. scrappyjandesigns

Today is K

I almost forgot to post something for the Challenge..
K-hmm...Kindness..we definately need more kindness in the world.
Knowledge.. I am learning more every day. How to be a good writer, how to process thoughts and put them on paper so the reader will know what I'm trying to describe as if they were in my head. That is a hard one.
I am learning lots with my scrapbook challenges also. New ideas of working with paper, using things that I would not have thought of before.
My daughters got Kites last year, and still haven't opened them to play with. Maybe this year. It sure seems to be windy enough.

I am totally random. Yep.

Have a great day!

J is the letter of the day

Yeah..so not alot of creativity for me today. Journaling..
I got this brilliant idea for my writing. I am going to make a journal blog for my character. That will also help with my short stories I thinks! I will have something to submit for the new website I've been asked to submit to. I will now have something to share! Woohoo!!
So..Now I need ideas on what to journal from a young woman's prospective. Not that I've ever been one. You'd think I would know what a 17-18 year old girl thought about. Ha! Well..
I'll get there. someday..
I suppose I just need to get off my lazy arse and journal already. :)

and for some reason my linky thing for the blog candy isnt working..abctoysandcrafts copic candy I would love to win this one..To get my collection started :)
And another one from ivamessy Beautiful stuff!!

Inspiring

I have been a little un-inspired lately. To do anything. I have been drained of all creativity. I didn't even WANT to scrapbook! I know!
So I have been looking for inspiriation. anywhere.
I have been actively looking for anything to make my brain do the right thing. I am a people watcher. I love to see the characteristics of others come through in body language, dress, mannerisms.. etc.
So I have been basically hiding in my room all weekend trying to get some pages going..A little luck, but not much to brag about. *gah*
I was watching Kirstie Alley's show Her big life! OMG I love this woman!! I have always loved her, since Cheers.
She is so "normal" She struggles with issues that most "normal" women do. I am now addicted to her show! I've even found her on Twitter. Stalker? Maybe..
She is inspiring. She is trying to lose weight. She is just like me :) She has others cheering her on, she has others sabatoging her, unintentionally of course, but still there. Just like me!
She is my new inspiration to lose weight. Maybe I'll even get a tweet from her (holding my breath) lol..

Have a great day!

Hinderance

I wanted to use Frustruation but Hinderance is on the list today. We come up to brick walls and have to keep beating our heads against them until either, one-our heads explode or two-they give way. I prefer option two. But it seem like lately option one is what life seems to have given us. I mean us, my family. No matter what we try-paying off bills to purchase our first home, teaching our kids to be responsible and respectful, our health issues, which we seem to have one after another..no matter what, we find ourselves face to face with that ugly brick wall. I think the only option, one that I have used forever.. is to just find a way over or through it. It seems like there isn't a way, but eventually a little path reveals itself. It seems that wall has found us again today, my dad's workers comp claim was denied, but I am determined to fight this and win! I will break through that damn wall and find the peace on the other side.
But as for now, I am going to make some cards and scrapping items for some challenges, since that seems to bring me the most peace so far. Then I have some wonderful new ideas for my writing, perhaps starting a new blog (shhh) it's a secret. Only time will tell.
As of right this moment, this hinderance is just a puddle, and we will get past this one, just like we always do!

A new contest to enter!! I love this one :)

Almost forgot "G"

continuing the a to z challenge Today's letter is G
G can start a lot of words
Growl- this brings to mind our dog's-they like to bark and growl at everyone. Here's a pic of my big dumb-dumb (as we call her) Sasha peeking to see what I'm making for dinner.

Grieve-I have to admit it, I am still grieving over the loss of my mom two years ago. She was my best friend, and I still get that thud in my heart and stomach when I think about her. Good thing we have memories and lots of pictures.

Gratitude-from Wikipedia  "thankfulness, or appreciation is a positive emotion or attitude in acknowledgment of a benefit that one has received or will receive" I like this word. We need to show more gratitude in our lives. Be thankful for what we have. We are so worried (as a society I think) about comparing what other's have or get, that we forget about what blessings we have ourselves. Be thankful for your happy children. Be grateful for your pets. I see this everyday in my kids, they are constantly complaining about how one got more than the other, and we tell them, suck it up and be happy with what you DID get. They'll learn someday, or I'll beat it into them. *smiles*

Card I made for town-scrappers Challenge (updated)

I wanted to enter a challenge (my first).. so I found this one I could do..
charmed-im-sure
And Here's my card
The picture Didn't turn out how I wanted, but the butterflies are stickled, and there is a quote by Shakespeare "I do love nothing in the world so well as you"
It has a butterfly charm and lots of other embelishments :)

Fabulous

Today's letter for the A to Z Blogging challenge is "F"
Fabulous came to mind. My sister sent me a text with Fabulous in it the other day. Immediately I saw the typical gay man (really no offence to gay men) in full drag, snappin his fingers in Z formation saying "Fabulous".. Can you picture it? Ok that was bad. sorry..
But I think fabulous is a great word. It goes over the top of just "good". Maybe the next time someone asks how you are..say "fabulous" see what they do.. :)
Fear is another word that means alot to me right now. I have fear that my dad is not going to live forever. I mean, how can that be? He is doing better after his fall, but he is not well. He has many health problems to deal with. I always thought my mom and dad would be around forever.
I also have fear that keeps me from finishing what I start. I know that now. I have been asked to submit short stories for a website, and I am scared shitless! What if they don't like them, what if they are hated in fact? Fear paralyzes me. Im afraid my own hubby will make fun of me.. how bad is that? He is supportive, but I haven't shared this much information with him, fear stops me from doing that.
I suppose I need to put my big girl panties on and suck it up.
Conquer my fears and maybe I can be successful in this.

So was lexi

So was dad :)

Its a fuzzy pic, but my maxikins likes the plastic eggs too!

See!! They CAN be nice to each other once in a while!

And here's a card I made for my etsy shop

E

Today I can't think of anything spectacular for "E"
Enjoy comes to mind. We love to enjoy things. We enjoy friends' company, we enjoy our children (for the most part, especially when they are sleeping) I enjoy fairies, incense, pink and lots more. I enjoy sleeping in on the weekends. I enjoy my pomeranian.
Some enjoy reading. Some enjoy writing, if that's possible, pulling hair out, chewing ends off pencils, rewriting pages after realizing the last didn't make any sense. :) uh-hem... I enjoy listening to books on my ipod. I have a hard time sitting down to read, but multitasking seems to work for me. What do you enjoy?
Empathy also is a good word.  Not enough of it in my world. Empathy is an ability with many different definitions. They cover a broad spectrum, ranging from feeling a concern for other people that creates a desire to help them, experiencing emotions that match another person's emotions, knowing what the other person is thinking or feeling, to blurring the line between self and other. I believe I have too much empathy. I feel bad for the disappointments others have, my heart breaks for the characters in movies. I have been told I feel too much, for others. Is that wrong? I think we all should care more. We have gotten to the point where we ignore everyone, every thing that happens, good or bad, in each other. It can change, one person at a time. Go out and be kind to others. Find homes for the little lost pups. give the homeless guy some change or a burger.
*steps off soapbox*
Have a great day!

D

I am still taking part in the A to Z blog challenge so today's the letter 'D'
There are lots of things with that I could choose.
Decisions..I think this would be fitting. We make decisions every day. I made the decision to (try) to write. I have many decisions to think through. What will my plot be? What will my characters be like? How will they live their story so it will be the greatest ever? Ok maybe not the greatest ever, but the greatest to me. If I allow it. I am hard on myself. I struggle with just the right words, then go back and change it all over and over. I made the decision to just let it flow, so to speak. I can ramble on and go back and pull it together another time. Getting the ideas down, that is the important part, right?
The decisions made on every page, those are going to be the most important part. It is every part of my story. I am glad I made the decision to blog. I have found many new friends and lots of advice.
Have a great day!

C- is for

Complicated
life is complicated
We have struggles we all go through, every day, every week. All of us. We all have troubles, we all have trials to pull through. Some say What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger. Well. I suppose that is true. What would life be like if we had no issues? We would be bored, boring. Nothing to live for I think. We need something that pulls us through to the end of the tunnel. We need hopes and dreams to keep us going, even when we think the life we have been given is crappy.
We take comfort in friends, we get strength through family and for most through faith.
I hope all is well with everyone today.

B-Books..Books overtaking my Brain

Ok..So I have been a little obsessed lately with books. Collecting them, reading them, listening to them, hearing about them, etc etc..
I am also trying, unsuccessfully, to write one of my very own. This is proving to be a task that I thought would be so easy, since I am brilliant and all, but truly hard work. It is hard finding time. I get  few minutes to myself and that time I am usually too exhausted, so drained of any creativity. My writing of choice, may stay a secret, as most I know would be surprised. Excuses? Yes. I've got many. Motivation? Yes. I so am! Unorganized? Absolutely! As my mom would say, I got a wild hair up my arse (that's for the tart) and now it's something I just HAVE to do.
So..What is my point today? I have no idea. But I just had to pick something for the challenge! Books seemed like a worthy topic.
I've met some wonderful people here in blogland, and some are writers, some are agents, some are scrapbookers, stampers and everything else. I love all my blogiverse friends and it is great to see other's ideas. How they get through the process of writing, creating, and all around being awesome. It is inspiring to read post after post of those that are successful. It gives me hope. Thank you to all my old and new friends. On that note...
What are some great books you have read lately?

A is for...Annoy

Love this list..I am participating in the April A to Z blog challenge From my new blogger friend tossingitout and it is going to be tons of fun. I have a list of participants on my sidebar..check them out, see what kind of trouble we can make in blogland!  (if I don't have you on my list, please let me know and I will add you)

I chose Annoy because we have the choice to be annoyed or not. We have the choice to annoy or not.. which one would you do?
101 ways to annoy people:
1. Sing the Batman theme incessantly.
2. In the memo field of all your checks, write 'for sensual massage.'
3. Specify that your drive-through order is 'to go.'
4. Learn Morse code, and have conversations with friends in public consisting entirely of 'Beeeep Bip Bip Beeeep Bip...'
5. If you have a glass eye, tap on it occasionally with your pen while talking to others.
6. Amuse yourself for endless hours by hooking a camcorder to your TV and then pointing it at the screen.
7. Speak only in a 'robot' voice.
8. Push all the flat Lego pieces together tightly.
9. Start each meal by conspicuously licking all your food, and announce that this is so no one will 'swipe your grub.'
10. Leave the copy machine set to reduce 200%, extra dark, 17 inch paper, 99 copies.
11. Stomp on little plastic ketchup packets.
12. Sniffle incessantly.

16. Reply to everything someone says with 'that's what YOU think.'
17. Claim that you must always wear a bicycle helmet as part of your 'astronaut training.'
18. Declare your apartment an independent nation, and sue your neighbors upstairs for 'violating your airspace.'
19. Forget the punchline to a long joke, but assure the listener it was a 'real hoot.'
20. Follow a few paces behind someone, spraying everything they touch with a can of Lysol.
21. Practice making fax and modem noises.
22. Highlight irrelevant information in scientific papers and 'cc:' them to your boss.
23. Make beeping noises when a large person backs up.
24. Invent nonsense computer jargon in conversations, and see if people play along to avoid the appearance of ignorance.
25. Erect an elaborate network of ropes in your backyard, and tell the neighbors you are a 'spider person.'
26. Finish all your sentences with the words 'in accordance with prophesy.'
27. Wear a special hip holster for your remote control.
28. Do not add any inflection to the end of your sentences, producing awkward silences with the impression that you'll be saying more any moment.
29. Signal that a conversation is over by clamping your hands over your ears.
30. Disassemble your pen and 'accidentally' flip the ink cartridge across the room.
31. Give a play-by-play account of a person's every action in a nasal Howard Cosell voice.
32. Holler random numbers while someone is counting.
33. Adjust the tint on your TV so that all the people are green, and insist to others that you 'like it that way.'
34. Drum on every available surface.
35. Staple papers in the middle of the page.
