Yet another...rejection

How do you deal with rejection?
In life..On the scale.. In writing.. In love..friendships and jobs.. there are many ways people are rejected.
How do you deal with it?

Say you get ignored, rejected, told you'rejust not good enough??

Do you run sobbing to the bedroom and throw yourself on your bed, covering your head with a pillow?
That sounds good to me!

Do you put your big girl panties (or boy shorts) on and move on?
Keep trying. Keep struggling. Continue to slave away at the work that you feel is good enough, even better than some?

Absolutely!

Just another day.

i must be honest. I usually pull up the big girl panties and move on. But lately I feel like just giving in. When do realize maybe what your trying for isnt going to happen? Or do you ever? I am just afraid if the rejections keep coming and I have to keep pulling up my big girl panties, the elastic is gonna break and I will really show my ass. ;)

That's right! Just keep going. Someday, someone will see your talent.

I try to pull up my boy boxers and move on - try harder, but sometimes I just need to stop and take a breather. I throw myself a little pitty party until my wife gets disgusted enough to kick me, and then I move on.

Sometimes though, I'm my own worst enemy. Such is the writer's life - always unsure if all that work you've poured you heart into for ages is good enough.

Sugar, if you are feeling this, I can only prompt you to keep going. carry on. like the Donkey that fell down the well and his master tried to bury him - just keep standing up and shaking it off.

Know this: You'll always have respect and admiration from all us other amateurs out there.

I'll get mad and stew for a while, grumble a bit, and then move on.

As a nudist I have no obligation to deal with it maturely *shifty* Seriously though--depends how close it is. When it is way down the line... rejected at the query level... I figure they just don't get me. But closer in, you invest more hope in it and it hurts more, so instead of an eye roll and move on, sometimes a blog vent or journaling session to get my disappointment on paper is necessary. (a bunch of rejections at once can do this, too, if there is no positive mixed in)--Once written, if I still feel lousy, then I can burn it. Nothing quite so satisfying as a bit of arson on your assailant.

I enjoy a moment of total funk before pressing forward.
