I suck

I went up to my happy little room, with my happy little notebook and yep, brand new pencil.
I really wanted to write. at least one page.
One frekin page!
Did I do it?
Nope.
I watched LA Ink and then fifteen and pregnant on lifetime.
Gah!
I suck!

My wip is screaming at me every time I walk by.
Do I give it any attention?
no.
WTF?
How do I get my mojo back? How can I put on paper what is taking over my brain?
How do I explain that fairies are gearing up to battle and Aislinn has to help them? IDK! (how lame does my wip sound now?)

HELP!!

I don't know if this will help but here's what I do (even though it hasn't been working for me lately.) I start writing out a scene like an outline. I try to keep it very simple, only writing things like, "so and so does this or so and so does that." I also try very hard to allow myself to write crap. I tell myself that the exercise is just to map out actions. What usually happens is I also reveal motivations and emotions, even dialogue sometimes. The biggest thing is to give yourself permission to write utter crap with the understanding that you can change or add to it later.

I sometimes try to simply write out a description of some place within the scene. Kind of like world building, but with a room or a car or a outdoor area. I ask myself, "what position and phase is the moon in this scene? Is it raining, hot, cold?." The main thing is just to get the pencil moving across the paper, or the fingers moving on the keys.

I hope this helps, although I'm no expert. Best of luck to you. Oh, and another thing - unplug the television or move to a room without one.

Here's what I do - is there an album or movie that inspires the feeling of your book? Maybe igniting your passion with some music or a movie will get you moving again.

Oh dear. I've been there. And I'm sorry to say it, but there's nothing that you can really do. When I went through this it sat there without me for three straight months. Then one day, I got an urge. I wrote 30,000 words in two weeks and finished the whole thing. Wait it out. It'll happen ;o)

Don’t forget about my CONTEST!

I agree with Alex. Watch the movies or listen to the music that inspired you to write what you love.

I would change locations--go somewhere that the distractions ARE NOT. A room with no TV, or go to a different place (a coffee shop or something).
