Ok..So I have been a little obsessed lately with books. Collecting them, reading them, listening to them, hearing about them, etc etc..
I am also trying, unsuccessfully, to write one of my very own. This is proving to be a task that I thought would be so easy, since I am brilliant and all, but truly hard work. It is hard finding time. I get few minutes to myself and that time I am usually too exhausted, so drained of any creativity. My writing of choice, may stay a secret, as most I know would be surprised. Excuses? Yes. I've got many. Motivation? Yes. I so am! Unorganized? Absolutely! As my mom would say, I got a wild hair up my arse (that's for the tart) and now it's something I just HAVE to do.
So..What is my point today? I have no idea. But I just had to pick something for the challenge! Books seemed like a worthy topic.
I've met some wonderful people here in blogland, and some are writers, some are agents, some are scrapbookers, stampers and everything else. I love all my blogiverse friends and it is great to see other's ideas. How they get through the process of writing, creating, and all around being awesome. It is inspiring to read post after post of those that are successful. It gives me hope. Thank you to all my old and new friends. On that note...
What are some great books you have read lately?

I think every writer struggles like this. We all have to fit it in around our other life. The life that we are often made to feel guilty about neglecting sometimes. But it's all part of the process :) Nice post.
Great books? 'The boy with the striped pyjamas.' Simple, beautiful, heart-wrenchingly sad ...
Hi Sugar, I love books of all kinds. Just finished reading Joseph Finder's "Vanished" (a good thriller) and am now re-reading Hawthorne's "The Scarlet Letter" before I start Paula Reed's recent release "Hester" which tells what Paula thinks happened to Hester and Pearl during the missing years.
It's exciting to start writing and then realize writing is not going to let you go, even though it's sometimes impossible to make yourself sit down and just do it. Don't feel alone -- it's a common problem.
Hi, Sugar,
Your name makes me thing of the song, "Oh, Sugar, Sugar, You are my Sugar Girl...." In fact it is running around in my head right now. Ha. I was reading a new book today called, "The Perfect Poison" and stopped at Burger King for breakfast and left it in the restroom there. I called back this afternoon and the guy who answered the phone said no one had turned it in and to call back tomorrow.I just hate doing something stupid like losing a book, don't you? thanks for checking out my blog. I love to write, but have never written a book. I have, however, posted almost 450 entries to my blog over the past two years. I'll be back. Best regards, Ruby
I collect books also. I find I do my best work on the spare of moment. No planning. Good luck with your writing endeavors.
I'm actually not a big book-reader.
But I think you are a very talented writer and you should most definitely keep on keeping on with that book!
books, books, books. I posted on books for B too! Who could resist!
My favorite recent read was Little Bee by Chris Cleave. Beautiful!
And keep up the writing - everyone here in blogland inspires me so much! I haven't written so much in a long time :)
