Fabulous

Today's letter for the A to Z Blogging challenge is "F"
Fabulous came to mind. My sister sent me a text with Fabulous in it the other day. Immediately I saw the typical gay man (really no offence to gay men) in full drag, snappin his fingers in Z formation saying "Fabulous".. Can you picture it? Ok that was bad. sorry..
But I think fabulous is a great word. It goes over the top of just "good". Maybe the next time someone asks how you are..say "fabulous" see what they do.. :)
Fear is another word that means alot to me right now. I have fear that my dad is not going to live forever. I mean, how can that be? He is doing better after his fall, but he is not well. He has many health problems to deal with. I always thought my mom and dad would be around forever.
I also have fear that keeps me from finishing what I start. I know that now. I have been asked to submit short stories for a website, and I am scared shitless! What if they don't like them, what if they are hated in fact? Fear paralyzes me. Im afraid my own hubby will make fun of me.. how bad is that? He is supportive, but I haven't shared this much information with him, fear stops me from doing that.
I suppose I need to put my big girl panties on and suck it up.
Conquer my fears and maybe I can be successful in this.

Oh sugar, do not fear :) I find other writers critiize with tact because we all go through the same thing. I really wouldn't worry. You'll learn as you go. It's all part of the process ...

My husband always told me "you won't know what you're capable of if you don't step out of your comfort zone" There's always someone out there that won't like what you do no matter what. don't let that person stop you because you will never know the people who will like your work if you don't do it.

Sugar, Please don't be afraid. Better to have tried and lost than never to have tried at all. You seem to be an excellent writer with really good ideas and you put your ideas together with real skill. Try, and be confident. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.
Best regards to you,
Ruby

Awww....Girlfriend we all have fear...truly we do! You write through that fear and DO NOT let it stop you!! If we never try, we may never fail but we will never gain either!!

And I hope your dad will get better soon.

And my fave gay man saying ir when they snap their fingers and say....Feerce!! Never fails to crack me up!! Keep writing!!

teehee--I use Fabulous ALL the time, but I think it is because I do the majority of communicating in writing and it is just such a great word for getting across a little 'over the topness' which my online persona sort of has... I seem to do it in real life now, too, though. Your description though, brought to mind the 'Sparkle Surprise Ken Doll' *snort*

And I understand your fears--I really do. With your dad it might help you to talk to him about it... things in the open aren't as scary as taboo topics. And the same goes for the writing... SHARE stuff--start with friends who you know will BOTH encourage AND critique honestly enough to improve your writing.

We all have fears; you aren't alone! I agree
share first with those you trust and as you build your self-esteem. You will be able to handle more and more gradually putting yourself out there!

That is such a graphic description of how the word looks. I was gripped by the same fear myself last month before sending my first draft to a few friends. the only way to deal with it, I guess, is to confront it.

I'm sending encouragement, but also, can I just tell you that "putting on one's big girl panties" is one of my favorite phrases?
